It's a difficult game with a lot of variation in terms of gameplay, number of choices, and a lot of replayability value. I loved the magic system, the pros and cons of using it, and the freedom to create your own creature.. An amazing enthralling story that can be played over and over and over and over ......... (where was I, ow ya) again. But in all honesty, I can't recommend this game enough and also you could probably run it on a toaster so there's that.. This game.... SUPER GOOD! It was an emotional rollercoaster filled with great highs, and lows. I have played it through 7 times and I got a drasticly different ending each time, and there are still a ton of acheavements, and endings I don't have yet so you really get your moneys worth. This game is great because a lot of desisions you make seem insignifficant, but then several chapters later they will come back to bite you in the butt.! Overal it was a ton of fun, and I really enjoyd all the quirky, and interesting characters.. I love reading the choose your own adventure books, really do.However this one feels very short on options and even at times you know which option they really want you to pick. Like some other reviews say, there are two choices that are major but you cannot reject both choices. In a postive light, it does make you think on which choice would be better for the world and others because all schools of magic has a drawback. The reason why I don't recommend this book is because it feels flat and I am not very attached to the characters as I should be. There are other magic base books that have a better story, your character has a better reason (in choices) of why they want to be a mage, the side characters you can get attached to, and it is very interesting on where it takes you. This book just makes me wonder if I am suppose to be a lone wolf that likes magic.. After doing 4 playthroughs i can say that this is the best Choice of game so far that ive played.Lots of variety between each playthrough ive done and i dont think ive done even half of the possible ways. This should be the standard for future Choice of games.Only problem i have as always with these games is that i wish they were longer, but for the price its good value.9.5/10. Ive read quite a few Choice games and even some from other companies, and I can say confiently that Choice of Magics is by far the best one I have ever played. I don't have all the achievments yet, but every playthrough I have seen something new and had a nice time. Even dying in new ways has been entertaining.I really love this game and believe anyone looking through the reviews needing an excuse or reason to buy this game/story, this is it. Please get this game. You wont regret it. <3
